Marbled endpapers, armorial bookplate of classical scholar and dean of Thomas Gaisford of Offington, Sussex (1816-1898) to FEP, internally clean and crisp. A finely produced reprint of Italian Petrarchist poet Niccolò Liburnio's (c. 1477- 1557) defence of Dante's Divine Comedy, first published by Giovanni Antonio di Nicolini da Sabio at Venice in 1534. OCLC records a single copy of this reprint (Berlin). . Quarto.
