The Speakers of the House of Commons from the earliest times to the present fay with a topographical description of Westminster at various epoch and a brief record of the principal constitutional changes during seven centuries. This work is a fascinating political history of Britain from the reign of Henry III to the early 20th Century. With one hundred and one plates, including two folding plates. Collated, complete. With a previous owner bookplate to the front pastedown for John Gretton. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Front hinge has started with the frontispiece loose but the hinge remains firm. With a previous owner bookplate to the front pastedown for John Gretton. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
