Boston: North Bennet Street School, 1937. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. Spiral bound cookbook, modest wear to cover, scattered light pencil marks to recipes (apparently marking favorites), old signature to half title. 137 recipes printed for the benefit of the North Bennet Street School. Second edition, the year after the first. 57pp. Advertisements at rear including one for Prince Macaroni which opened in the North End just up the street from NBS in 1912. The North Bennet School, one of the oldest trade schools in the US, opened in the North End in 1879, 9 copies of the two editions in OCLC.
Many recipes for game, desserts, "Pizza alla Napolitana", Zabioni (aka zabaglione), a short pasta section "spaghetti, macaroni, ravioli". An interesting snapshot of early Italian American cookery.
