Sabin 89123: "On title page of New York Historical Society copy, in manuscript, âS.W. Dana author,' [probably referring to] a representative from Connecticut"; Dana (1760-1830) later served in the U.S. Senate, 1810-1821, as a Federalist. "In his system Dana combined the best thought of the Federalists and the Jeffersonians" (DAB). American Imprints 2115. OCLC locates five copies (New York Historical Society, Delaware, Massachusetts Historical Society, Clements, British Library). Disbound pamphlet (half-title detached and chipped around the edges, last signature detached, lower blank margin of final leaf torn away). Interior stamp "Mercantile Library, Philadelphia," a good copy only.
