About This Item
New York: F. Mansfield, 1898. First American edition. Hardcover. Very good. An important tome in Western Australian exploration. Carnegie's aims were to determine the nature of the country between Warburton & Forrest's routes, ascertain whether any auriferous areas existed to the north & to examine the possibility of a direct stock route between the two goldfields. Some minor detractions include lightly dusted spine; light band of marking on back cover; spine ends slt. rubbed. Slt rubbing to image of camels on front cover. Nevertheless, a very good, tight, untouched copy. Roy. 8vo, xvi + 454pp. Frontispiece and ills in text and folding maps. F7960. Original gilt & black stamped decorated tan cloth. A clean copy of the scarce New York edition.
