Half navy-blue leather with five raised spine bands and decorations on to lighter blue cloth with an emblem in gilt. All edges gilt. 8vo; 8.5 inches tall; 356 pages with index. Bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear with sun-fading on the spine and a scuff on one lower corner. Offsetting onto the endpages. Illustrated with photogravure frontispiece; full-page b/w prints and drawings in text.. A classic account of Alpine sport, mostly in the Austrian Alps including chamois-stalking, stag, roebuck, and other big game.
