London: F. Warne & Co, 1883. First edition. Leather. Good. 10" by 8". Various. A first edition of this illustrated volume work on large game hunting and fishing in North America. A first edition of this volume on fishing and hunting edited by American physicist Alfred Marshall Mayer. Heavily illustrated throughout, with twenty nine full page illustrations, collated and complete. Includes tales of hunting large game such as bears, buffalos, moose and deer hunting in North America, as well as a discussion of salmon and sea-trout fishing. In the publisher's original quarter leather binding over red cloth. Externally, sound. Lightly rubbed to the boards, more so to the joints where the leather is scuffing. The leather is also rubbed to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting, but firm, whilst the rear hinge is starting and is rather tender. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages throughout. Good
