First edition. Illustrated with frontispiece, eighteen plates, one plan, and a fold-out map. Collated complete. A detailed guide to big-game hunting in India, with reference to the behaviour of wild animals, frays and forays, how animals hunt, the jungles, man-eaters, wild men, wolf-children, and much more. Written by Brigadier-General Reginald George Burton, a British Indian army officer, hunter-naturalist and writer of books on sports hunting and military history. In the original orange cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Marks to the spine and rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with light scattered spotting. Pencil inscription to the front endpaper. Bookseller's ink stamp to the front pastedown. Very Good
