About This Item
Pamphlet, 8vo, 72 pp. Removed or disbound, signature on title, some foxing, ink spot blocks out date on back of title page, normal aging and browning; otherwise very good. This pamphlet relates to election fraud in the presidential election of 1838. Glentworth was a tobacco inspector, who used his position in the Whig party to send workers from Pennsylvania to New York City, who were supposed to be laying pipe, but instead cast votes for presidential candidate William Henry Harrison. District attorney William Morris got wind of this scandal, and seized documents related to the case. OCLC. enotes website.
