Top edge stained blue. 436pp. Illustrated throughout with full page black and white plates and in text drawings by John Wolcott Adams. A history of the early steamboats of New England, the Great Lakes and the Mississippi. A very tight, clean, unmarked copy with bright gilt. Topstain a bit faded and part of two letters slightly dulled on front title. Near fine (without dust jacket)..
