(1st English) Slightly smaller book, blue cloth, gilt lettering very bright on spine, map of New Guinea and nearby islands inside covers and adjacent end papers, 352 lightly browned pages, small dark blue sticker inside front cover for bookstore in Kensington, photo sections throughout. Up until the Thirties, the interior of New Guinea was unexplored by white Europeans. DJ heavy paper, b/w photo of Williams and Duna man on front, b/w photo portrait of Williams on back. DJ white portions very slightly browned, tiny brown stain near top front left, nick at spien bottom right edge, creased along top back edge. Near Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
