London: Bodley Head, 1978. 119 pages. Green hardcover with gilt lettering on spine; corners are sharp and there is just a wee bit of wear to spine ends. Tight binding, lightly circulated ex-library book clean save for library stamps and pocket to prelims and tapemarks to boards. Beautiful dust jacket (both its design and its condition) with NO spine label and no signs of wear. Jacket is price clipped, states second printing. Small adhesive mark to reverse, does not show through. Protected in mylar cover. In the sixth book of the Green Knowe series (written about the author's own house), she goes back to its beginning. It is AD 1120, and the Manor house of Green Knowe is built as a family home and a fortress against invaders. Roger, son of the Manor and first of the Green Knowe children, watches its construction with pride. Then he discovers two ancient stones on a hill overlooking his home and with their aid, embarks on a series of journeys to Green Knowe as it stands in times between his and our present. London: The Bodley Head, 1976. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. This is a first printing of the first edition, with the "First published 1976" statement on the verso of the title page. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. There is a discrete bookseller's stamp in the bottom corner of the front fixed end paper, but no other marks or wear. The green covers are fresh, with a bit of light wear to the corners and shallow bumps at the top and bottom of the spine. The gilt spine lettering is still shiny. The dust jacket is not corner clipped, and is also in very good condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.The attached scan should give a better idea of condition.
