The account and aftermath of the tragic 1988 shootdown of a commercial Iranian airliner by a U.S. Navy cruiser. The account is written by the then-captain of the USS Vincennes and his wife. Stated first printing, though the number line sequence runs 9 through 2. This is a very clean copy with no glaring flaws, just a bit of browning to the pages. There is no writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. No remainder marks. Not an ex-library copy. Spine is tight and crisp. Boards are flat and true, and the corners are square. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but does have some scratching/scuffing to the back cover, some micro tears, and some general edge wear.
