Cover depicts scene emanating dry desert heat of the Israelites mountain-top fortress city, Masada, in hues of gold, orange and green. Pages near fine; no writing. Matte beige endpapers, fine. Light violet tinted topstain. Bind fine; hinges intact. Rare original beige pictorial wrapper, moderate shelf wear, chip; unclipped 5.00, protected in new clear sleeve. Front panel repeats scene of Masada, high city of stone, w/trapezoidal borders w/full cover and spine titles in dark brown. Extra-wide front and back flaps present a full, rich summary of this text. Back panel features small vignette of fishers casting net. Rare near fine first edition in near very good wrapper. Printed by Van Rees Press of New York. At back few pages is a rather throroughly condensed 3-page time-line of the Good Book utilizing animated strips w/blurbs.
