Red cloth with black lettering/banding on spine, black lettering/decoration on front board. 22 b&w illustrations including frontispiece (collated). Contents: The Railway in Its Infancy; The Railroad as It is; The London and North-Western; The Midland; The Great Western; The North-Eastern and Great Northern; The Great Eastern; The Lancashire and Yorkshire; The London and South-Western; Other English Lines; The Scottish Lines; Conclusion. Bookplate on front pastedown, some separation between several page gatherings - pages still firmly held in binding, small areas of light soiling on a few pages, small crease at top corner of approx. pages 24 to 54 - small piece missing at top corner of page leaf 23/24, small ghost sticker mark on front board, light edge wear - more at top/bottom of spine with wrinkling, light fading/darkening to spine color, light soiling/rubbing to boards. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.. New Monumental Edition.. Hard Cover. Good-.
