"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" were originally published serially in "The Strand" starting in 1891. The volumes in this set contain, among others, "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle," "The Adventure of the Cardboard Box," and "The Adventure of the Final Problem." Conan Doyle's non-Sherlock works published in "The Strand" include "The Voices of Science" in Volume I and "The Tragedy of the Korosko" in Volume XIII.




Volume III contains the first publication of Rudyard Kipling's short story "The Lost Legion." Volume IV contains the first English translation of Jules Verne's short horror story "Frritt-Flacc" as "Dr. Trifulgas." 1364387. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
