This is another of the canyon country books with a hidden outlaw haven. Here lives the outlaw leader when not living a double life on the outside; there is an innocent young girl, and then a hero who is sent on a mission by his old friend to rescue the girl. In a scene reminiscent to the prologue of "Desert Gold" Kent Wingfield is told about Lucy Bonesteel and sent to save her. Riding and depending on his faithful horse, Spades, Wingfield enters the canyon hideout of Avil Bonesteel and his outlaw gang. On the outside Bonesteel is known as Luce Chaney respectable rancher and cattle dealer. This is a wonderful book, one of my favorites, and I think one anybody would enjoy as well--full of action, passion, and characters you won't soon forget.
