New York: Harper & Brother Publishers, 1945. Third Edition stated. Near Fine, prior owner name in ink front end page, shallow 1" chip at fore edge of final page, not affecting text. In a Very Good dust jacket, 1/2" x 2" chip at top edge spine and front cover, tiny chips at corners. The author's acclaimed first published book of poetry, Gwendolyn Brooks went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1950 for her 2nd book, Annie Allen, becoming the first African-American to win that award. Uncommon in any early edition and in collectible condition. . Third Edition. Cloth. Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
