About This Item
First American edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1965. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Original price of $4.95 printed on the top corner of the front flap. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable, library quality cover. 340 pages. Author name and title on the spine in silver and gold. All lettering and design elements on the boards are intact and not rubbed or worn. Dust jacket has some light edge wear at the top, with a closed tear of about a half inch at the top left near the spine, and a short closed tear at the top right side on the back of about 1/2 inch. Crease marks to the top edge of the jacket and some sun fading to the spine too. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Novel set mostly in the Maldives, with Innes' customary focus on maritime action. Edges of the boards are not worn or rubbed, corners are not bumped or creased. Red top-stain shows some dust spot stains. Fore edge of the text block is relatively clean, showing just one dot of foxing. Not a library discard, not a book club edition, not a remainder. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
