[6], 9-142, [2] pp. Purple cloth with black swans embossed on the front board and black lettering on the spine. Price of $3.95 on the front flap of the dust jacket, library price clipped. Illustrated with in-text and full-page drawings by Ted CoConis. Winner of the 1971 Newbery Medal. A Very Good book with moderate rubbing to the boards and a bit of foxing to the pastedowns; jacket is Very Good with minor foxing to the reverse and a bit of toning to the spine.

Synopsis

Summer of the Swans is a novel by Betsy Byars that won the Newbery Medal in 1971 about fourteen-year-old Sara Godfrey's search for her missing, mentally retarded brother Charlie. Summer of the Swans was filmed as Sara's Summer of the Swans for an ABC Afterschool Special.
