The autobiographical poetry of Sir John Betjeman, written in blank verse and detailing his early life until his premature leaving of Magdalen College, Oxford. It was adapted into a film by the BBC.Sir John Betjeman (1906-1984), an English poet and writer known for being Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death.The first U.S. edition of this work. Complete with an unclipped and smart dust wrapper, featuring a photograph of Betjeman taken by Cecil Beaton.A smart copy. In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with just a touch of wear to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is a little worn, with some sunning to the spine and general wear to the boards; a small tear to the top of the front cover. Front endpaper has been removed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
