Covers lightly rubbed. Book-plate of Lord Dickinson. Autograph signed letter from Layard, dated Dec. 4 1907 to an unidentified recipient, discussing a publication and certain plates, with a P.S. 'You might stick this letter in the book in place of the inscription which should have been inseryted before Eleanor handed it to you'. Thhis mounted on the front free end-paper.
