London: Victor Gollancz, 1956. First Thus . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The jacket has minor loss to the head and tail of the spine and along the outer corners and the boards are cocked. There is a light thumb print on the front end paper and almost imperceptible staining on the bottom right hand corner of the jacket and spine. The body of the book is immaculate and the binding solid. From the jacket: " There are eighteen chapters in "The Sweet Science, and each one is centred on one particular fight - in most cases on a prize contest" The text of this book, except the introduction, originally appeared in The New Yorker.
