As with all of the Baedeker guides, it reflects the personal experiences of the editor. "This edition, which corresponds with the twenty-eighth German edition, has been thoroughly revised and furnished with the latest information obtainable. " It is divided into Seven Sections, "each of which may be separately removed fro the book by the mountaineer or pedestrian who desires to minimie the bulk of his luggage, so that each forms an approximately complete volume apart from the general table of contents or the general index." [Indicating that some number of these were disassembled for hikers or climbers]. Seven of these maps appear here for the first time. 75 maps, 20 plans, 12 panoramas

Owner Thomas Joyce was the regular book appraiser on Home & Garden TV\'s \"The Appraisal Fair\\\" program, on international broadcasts. Thomas Joyce was the co-discoverer of George Washington's personal copy of William Leybourn's 1679 edition of THE COMPLEAT SURVEYOR, from which young Washington learned some of his surveying skills at age 16. The book had vanished for nearly a century until its re-discovery in 2017. It is now back at Mt. Vernon.
