London: W. Lee (Printed by J. F. and S. G. William Lee, sold by Thomas Williams), 1664. Full Calf. Good. Folio, 29.5 by 20 cm. Engraved frontis portrait of Bacon, engraved, extra, title page, title page, [14], 228, title, 36, title, [5], 62 pp. Condition: Rebacked long ago (19th century rebacking probably), with spine sympathetic to original leather but clearly different. Binding with abrasions, rubbing, scratches -- it looks fairly heavily worn. A few tiny leather chips along joints. Joints starting. Marginal repair to extra title page, more conspicuous on blank rear of leaf. Leaves generally with moderate soiling, which includes dampstaining, mostly but not entirely light, and age toning.
