Padua: Ex Typograph Joannis Baptistae De Martinis. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1628. Hardcover. B&W Illustrations; [16], 222 pages; Symbolarum epistolicarum liber in quo nonnulla ex antiquitatis iuris civilis et historiae penu depromuntur & illustrantur multaque auctorum loca emendantur & explicantur. Antique Epistolary Literature Law Woodcut Illustrations Leatherbound. Lorenzo Pignoria was a Paduan antiquary and philologist. Width: 4.5" Height: 6.5". Re-backed. The work is bound in full leather, with gilt ruling to the cover and spine, and red leather spine label with gilt lettering. The endpapers of this volume are new. The title page of this work features a woodcut vignette. A few other woodcut illustrations appear in the text, showing brightly and vividly. A well-preserved folding text plate appears in the center of the volume. The exterior of this volume is mildly worn, with rubbing to the edges of the covers. The binding is firm, and the armorial bookplate of Bibliotheque Schorsch is present to the front paste-down. Foxing appears on the blank preliminary page, growing more sporadic through the interior. The pages are generally bright, with scattered marginalia or underlining in ink. Some small sections of pages are toned. Page 201 shows a chip in the bottom edge. One folding plate, and 13 woodcuts in the text. .
