Brown cloth, titled in gilt on spine; plain endpapers; xx,660pp. Ex-library, from the U.S. Commission of Fish and Fisheries, with stamp to t.p., labels to spine, withdrawn stamp and marks to f.f.e.p., and empty card pocket at rear. Straight and sound, cloth rubbed, paper lightly toned: Good.

Haeckel was a notable German zoologist, who discovered thousands of new species. He is now well known for his artwork, published in Kunstformen der Natur.
