London: Printed, and Sold by J. Brotherton, 1735. iv, 48, [2], 92pp. Contemporary gilt-ruled speckled calf. A trifle rubbed. Title page lightly browned, later inked ownership inscription of Henry Lonsdall to recto of FFEP. Inked inscription to recto of p[1]: 'Examd. G. Morris'. The sole edition of the first published work of Gael Morris, of whom little is known; a ready-reckoner providing tables for computing interest the renewal and purchase of lease and annuities. Morris has only one other work to his name the (equally scarce) posthumously published Astronomical tables of the sun and moon... (London, 1775?). The presence of the author's inscription is clearly explained in the preface: 'The Tables of Simple Interest, I am of Opinion, will be found to be more exact than any hitherto published; but should they yet be imperfect...I will return the Money to any Person that shall shew me an Error of a Penny in any Book attested to be examined by me'. ESTC records copies at six locations in the British Isles (BL, Cambridge, Institute of Chartered Accountants, NT, Oxford, and Senate House), and a further three in North America (California, Harvard, and Pennsylvania).
