Hardcover edition, published by Candlewick Press, 2004. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Part of the Emily Windsnap series of mermaid adventure stories, this is the first in the series. A later edition. Not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Binding is tight and square. The dust jacket has some light creases to the top edge, not very noticeable. . The cover boards are flat, and the corners are not bumped or creased. Edges of the text block show some smudges from wear and use. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
Synopsis
Liz Kessler lives on a canal boat in the countryside, just outside of Manchester, England. She has spent most of her career in journalism and teaching English and media studies, but the idea of Mary Penelope whose daughter was secretly a mermaid, would not leave her alone until she wrote it down.
