London, 1884 Tales from the Arabic of the Breslau and Calcutta [1814-1818] editions of the book of the thousand nights adn one night not occurring in the texts of the work, now first done into English by John Payne in three volumes, copy #178. Three vojumes bound in vellum with gilt decorations. The vellum is darkened with Vol. 1 showing some spots. Top edge gilt with other edges untrimmed. Each volume has a bookplate with volume one having offsetting [browning where some paper was laid inside. Mildly ex-lib with small ink accession numbers on the spine and faded ink stamps on copyright page.
