Primarily remembered for his novel "The Adventures of Telemachus", Francois Fenelon was a French archbishop of Cambray who wrote a number of poems and essays. 'Tales and Fables' is a collection of mythological and ancient stories including those of lesser-known figures such as Aristonous, Shah Abbas King of Persia, Alfa Route and Clarifilia, Celobulus and Phillis, and many others.
This 1789 folio edition includes both French and English translations with separate pagination.
