Published in 7 parts starting in February 1905, the book was published 7 months later in September of 1905. Small folio with minor seperation at some of the folds and light chipping, otherwise fine and bright with superior illustrations. In advance of the book publication by some months, these stories are of supreme California importance as they comprise "Jack London's First Set of Stories Set in his Home State" and his home port, San Francisco Bay. Filled with violence, greed, exploitation of San Francisco Bay resources, exclusion of the Chinese, slugging through bar rooms and the docks; this was the world of London's youth and formative years.
