About This Item

Garden City/New York: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1925. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First American edition (stated "First Edition"), a posthumous collection of four tales that was published on the same day as the English one but, interetingly, less common. The stories are "The Warrior's Soul," "Prince Roman," "The Tale'" and "The Black Mate" [perhaps Conrad's earliest effort, circa 1884]. Dark blue cloth binding, titled and decorated on the spine and front cover in gilt. Clean text; xv, 120 pages. Very fresh and bright. With a.Preface by R.B. Cunningham Graham. Rubbed at the head and foot of the spine, where the gilt is dulled. The dustjacket is clipped; it has several small chips and is darkened on the spine and at the edges. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
