This is a Near Fine copy of the First American edition (stated "First Edition"), a posthumous collection of four tales that was published on the same day as the English one but, interetingly, less common. Dark blue cloth binding, titled and decorated on the spine and front cover in gilt. Clean text; xv, 120 pages. Very fresh and bright. With a.Preface by R.B. Cunningham Graham. Rather attractive bookplate on the front paste-down; some offsetting on the rear paste-down from a laid-in contemporary news clippings (included); use of a paperclip has leftimpression to the rear endpapers. Lacking the dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
