About This Item
Synopsis
Tales of Mystery and Imagination , stories by American author Edgar Allan Poe have been compiled by Padraic Colum into a thrilling collection focused on Poe’s suspenseful stories. The first edition compiled by Padraic Colum was published in 1908 by Geoffrey Newnes Ltd. and includes an introduction by Colum explaining his decision to exclude Poe’s poems, comedies, and essays from the collection. A later 1919 edition, published by George G. Harrap & Co., includes 24 full-page black and white plates by famous illustrator Harry Clarke. An album by The Alan Parsons Project was named after the short story compilation and contains several songs based on the tales included.
