An introduction to the study of Shakespeare, for which purpose of his words are used whenever it is impossible to bring them in; and whatever has been added to give them the regular form of a connected story, diligent care has been taken to select such words as might least interrupt the effect of the beautiful English tongue in which he wrote. Condition notes: (vii), 366 numbered pp; HB. Pages: foxed, some sm stains, ivory, tight, printed eps, portrait frontis; a.e. well sunned, clovers laid in and title page, front is offset to title page, a bit cocked. Cover: elaborately blind stamped brown cloth, gilt ornamentation + titles spine; moderate shelfwear, head/tail worn away, tears to joints around head/tail, extrems worn through.
