About This Item
Wales: Daniel Owen, Cardiff, 1879. Ex-Library. Fair+. Hardcover. red boards, with wear to corners and edges, shelf wear, some damage to spine, loose and exposed hinges, spine split and scuffined, a good reading and reference copy. some spotting on pages, dedication on title page from the author, with an advertising bill attached to the first blank page of the books publication, as subscribed by most of the county gentry of Wales! Cardiff Free library bookplate inside front cover, could do with TLC, but the stories are wonderful, a mirror of Wales in its social, historical, manners, customs and superstitions. stories of the Rhondda, Llantwit Major, Castell Coch, Kidwelly, Havod Uchtryd, Ifor Hael (nice pub!), Neath, Llandrindod, Brecon, Pontypridd.... all the stories are so addictive, you just start reading and get sucked in. wonderful..
