Paris: Vilo, 1974 8vo (22.5 cm), 32 pp (pamphlet in printed wrappers), 78 cards in board case, slip-case (minor shelf-wear). The Visconti-Sforza Tarot is used to refer to approximately 15 decks from the middle of the 15th century, now located in various museums, libraries, and private collections around the world. Visconti-Colleoni deck, reproduced here in beautiful facsimile, was produced in 1440th. Originally composed of 78 cards, it now contains 74, of which 35 are in the Morgan Library & Museum in New York, 26 are in the Accademia Carrara, 13 are in the private collection of the Colleoni family in Bergamo. Included an interesting essay by Italian writer Gabriele Mandel (1924-2010) of the history of Tarot and iconography of this particular deck.
