First Edition/First Printing Book condition: Good, has black tape remnants on the inside and outside of covers. Closed tear on front cover. Spine leans. Corners rubbed. Hinges and good but there is some staining to th text block edges.Some minor internal staining. Heavy wear of spine base. Previous owner initials to front free endpapers. Dust jacket condition: Good, Cover is vibrantly colored but there is wrinkling around top edges all the way around and some closed tears at bottom edges and wear around most edges. Same black tape remnants are on dj corresponding to spots on book cover. Now preserved in shiny new archival mylar. " Howard Hughes bought the movie rights for Gaines' original "Tasker Martin" novel, which was described in a 1950 Times review as racy and "an absorbing story of modern times, written in a refreshingly original style." - L.A.
