This biography of the man known as "Lawrence of Arabia" who was the first ever media star created by Lowell Thomas and Dale Carnegie whose result drove T.E. Lawrence into the arms of death to escape it. The ultimate romantic enigma, Thomas Edward Lawrence (or "Lawrence of Arabia") made a career of shifting identities. The illegitimate son of an Anglo-Irish aristocrat. Lawrence became a popular hero for his role in the 1916 Arab rebellion against Turkish rule. Upon his return to England, Lawrence devoted himself to the Arab cause. When his efforts came to naught, Lawrence resigned from the Colonial Office and sought refuge in the ranks of enlisted men, changing his name twice to escape detection, until his untimely death in a 1935 motorcycle crash. A clean very presentable copy.
