The Writer's Library edited and intro by Berg Esenwein stating it is the first exhaustive study of the genre of mystery and detective fiction. Maroon boards. The gray dust jacket is apprently a later issue, circa 1919. Book is near fine. Dust jacket, with $1.75 price on spine, is tanned on the spine and edges and has minor edgewear. Rare in dust jacket.
