About This Item

Philadelphia: Edward Stern & Co., Inc, 1909. First edition. Fine in good dust jacket.. First printing of this story of the Roosevelt Bears' adventures as private eyes, on a mission to solve a variety of nursery rhyme mysteries - the rarest of the series to find with dust jacket intact. TEDDY-B AND TEDDY-G: THE BEAR DETECTIVES is the final entry in Seymour Eaton's Roosevelt Bears series (and his personal favorite), which popularized the teddy bear. In this attractive work we find the bear pair solving mysteries including the whereabouts of Little Bo Peep's sheep, who killed Cock Robin, and what happened to Cinderella's fairy godmother. This is a particularly nice copy, retaining its very rare original dust jacket. 11'' x 8.25''. Original cloth-backed grey boards with color pictorial onlay. Original unclipped (no price) pictorial dust jacket. Color frontispiece with 14 color plates and numerous black-and-white line drawings. 178 pages. Jacket with several chips to edges, spine somewhat tender; a number of tape repairs to verso. Binding with a hint of shelfwear. Sharp and clean.
