Hartford. Worthington & Co. 1875. Extremely ornate gilt decorated cloth. 8vo. Publishers dummy. Illustrated from portraits. The publishers dummy issue of this renowned Mormon expose. Included with the abbreviated text are many pages of ads, as well as several pages from what is apparently a journal/diary/ledger contemporary with the book. ( Fascinating glimpses into everyday life)This book was apparently available in 2 bindings , full calf and ornate gilt cloth ( which this is). Examples of the backstrips for both bindings are laid down on inside front cover. Also included are several of the publisher's agents guarantee and publicity slips. All in all, a delightfully scarce curiosity. Very Fine.
