Blind-stamped brown cloth gilt, with gilt silhouette to front cover, Garrison Morton 2677: "This classic work on temperature in disease laid the foundation of modern knowledge regarding clinical thermometry. Garrison has said of Wunderlich that he 'found fever a disease and left it a symptom.' The book was translated into English and published by the New Sydenham Society in 1871." Cloth is cracked along front edge of front cover, one crack across spine. xii, 462 pp. Scattered marginal vertical lines.
