First published in September, 1951. This copy was reprinted in November, 1951. Signed by the author Robertson Davies. Davies crossed out his printed name on the title page in black ink and signed beneath it in the same. From the personal collection of Greg Gatenby- Canadian writer, poet and founder of the Harbourfront Reading Series and the International Festival of Authors in Toronto. Gatenby was an early supporter of Canadian writers and knew Robertson Davies well. With Gatenby's signature on the front free endpaper. Light surface wear. Bump to spine extremities. No dust jacket. Robertson Davies (1913-1995) was an award-winning Canadian novelist, poet, playwright, critic, journalist and professor.
