SHOWS A FRONTIERSMEN AND NAVY MAN ON THE COVER AND IN BETWEEN INSIDE A BOAT STEERING WHEEL IS A PICTURE OF INDIAN TEPEES. CCAN STILL SEE RED AND BLUE COLOR ON FRONT OF COVER, WORN MOSTLY OFF OF SPINE. FIGURE ON SPINE IS QUITE WORN, PRINTED ABOVE PUBLISHER NAME LIBRARY EDITION- SOME MUST HAVE BEEN PRINTED ESPECIALLY FOR LIBRARIES- HOWEVER THERE ARE NO OTHER INDICATIONS THIS WAS ACTUALLY A LIBRARY COPY. SMALL SPOT ON BACK COVER WHERE HAD BEEN TEAR, ONLY INTERNAL MARKINGS ARE A SIGNATURE AND DATE INSIDE FRONT SIGNED BY FORMER OWNER. TIGHT AND IN GOOD SHAPE. GOOD SHAPE FOR OLD BOOK. Castlemon was born Charles Austin Fosdick in Randolph, New York, but grew up in Buffalo, where his father was a public-school principal. His series books, about fifty-eight novels, rivaled those by Horatio Alger, ¿Oliver Optic,¿ and George A. Henty in their popularity among young boys.
