HARDCOVER, bound in red three-quarter cloth and marbled boards, spine gilt; light dampmark to bottom of leaves, some spotting. In good condition. ~ FIRST EDITION. Tobler, 186: "Dieser feiner gebildete mann schreibt sehr fliessend und anziehend." Dedicated and signed by the Author on half title. Noted classicist Dr. Henriëtte Boas' copy, with her bookplate. Previously in the collection of the Dutch Institute for the Near East, with a bookplate to that effect inside cover and a stamp to verso of title-page. F-5 IN
