Covers slightly marked and with a bit of soil; neat 1921 gift inscription and bookshop stamp on front endpaper, otherwise close to fine in dust jacket, chipped at spine ends and with tape mends to corners that have resulted in some discoloration.. Large 8vo, 302pp;illus.; black cloth. Important early book by Macgowan, who along with Eugene O'Neill directed the Provincetown Players and was a key theatre critic in the 1920s before going to Hollywood and becoming a film producer and UCLA professor. Very scarce in jacket.
