Hutt, is a history, analysis and cricisim of the principal theories which have sought to explain the effects of trade unions and employers' associations upon the distribution of the products of industry. The author, W.H. Hutt (1899-1988), was an English economist who described himself as a classical liberal. Born in London, he served as a pilot in the RAF during World War I, later attending the London School of Economics and then joining the faculty of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he later served as the director of the university's Graduate School of Business. He has served as a visiting professor to several universities in the United States and has written several books on topics of economic theory.
