The book was released, in Germany, in 1966 and was followed by this English translation (translated by Adriane Gottwald) and was published two years later in the United States in a hard bound version. The book has become relative because it revisits today's rise of the populism, racism, and taste for surveillance that were part of Beradt’s time and also because there’s nothing else like it in the tons of books written about that time period. In Beradt's book she writes: “These dreams—these diaries of the night—were conceived independently of their authors’ conscious will; They were, so to speak, dictated to them by dictatorship.” This is a very rare book and is a one of a kind for sale in this condition.
